Uses & Applications

Food & Beverage

CO₂ plays a major role across the food and beverage industry, far beyond simple carbonation. It’s used for rapid chilling and freezing, modified-atmosphere packaging, and pH control in beverage and dairy processing. CO₂ also protects product quality by purging tanks, bottles, and lines to prevent oxidation. In distribution, dry ice keeps cold-chain products stable during transport.

Fire Suppression

CO₂ fire suppression systems work by rapidly displacing oxygen and cooling the hazard area to stop combustion. When activated, they flood the space with high-density CO₂ vapor that extinguishes flames without leaving residue. Because CO₂ is non-conductive, it’s ideal for protecting electrical equipment, machinery, and flammable-liquid processes. These systems act quickly and help facilities reduce damage and downtime.

Water Treatment

CO₂ is used in water treatment as a safer, more controlled way to lower pH by forming carbonic acid when dissolved in water. Pressurized CO₂ solution feed panels allow operators to dose carbonic acid precisely without the handling risks associated with sulfuric acid. This approach reduces corrosion, improves operator safety, and offers smoother pH adjustment. Healthcare​
